Innovation Research Development Observatory
The Innovation Research Development Observatory (IRS) provides advice and technical-scientific support to the Scientific - Technical Direction (STD) and the Scientific Council (SC) of CREA, with the aim to:
- promote and streamline research activities carried out by the different CREA Centers, starting from the design phase;
- enhance the results obtained in research projects and in institutional working groups, including throught technology transfer;
- promote relationships with relevant national and international institutions and other key stakeholders.
The Observatory consists of a ‘Steering Committee’ and ‘Thematic Networks’ of Researchers and Technologists that can be established upon request.
The Steering Committee is composed of two representatives of the Projects Office, one representative of the Technology Transfer Office and one of the Institutional Affairs and International Relations Office, in addition to the STD and members of the SC and Board of Directors.
Thematic Networks can be established upon request by CREA’s Researchers and Technologists, the SC, Directors of the Research Centers and the STD. Proposals must indicate the Network coordinator, the topic of interest, the foreseen duration of activities and an initial proposal for the group composition, which should range between a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 30 Researchers and Technologists.
Requests to establish Networks must be sent to the Technical Secretariat of the STD (segreteria.tecnica@crea.gov.it) and will be evaluated by the Observatory's Steering Committee, which may suggest additions or modifications, if deemed appropriate. Once established, Thematic Networks may operate autonomously (under the guidance of the Network coordinator) and periodically report progress to the Steering Committee. Participation in thematic networks will follow a rotation principle, to ensure the widest possible involvement of the scientific community of CREA.
The activities of the Observatory are coordinated by the STD through the Technical Secretariat.
Participation in the activities of thematic networks is voluntary. The inclusion of Researchers and Technologists in specific Thematic Networks must take into account their technical and scientific expertise. The composition of the Thematic Networks may be revised based on specific needs, respecting the Network’s size limits.
The establishment of Thematic Networks within the activities of the IRS Observatory will not be considered for career advancement purposes.
