Type of event:

When: Wednesday 12 March 2025 - hour: 16:00

Where: piattaforma Teams

Aphanomyces root rot, caused by the soil-borne oomycete Aphanomyces euteiches, poses a significant threat to pea (Pisum sativum) cultivation, leading to root discoloration, wilting, and substantial yield losses. Developing resistant pea varieties is challenging due to the polygenic nature of resistance and the complex interactions between the pathogen and host plant.

In the webinar, Dr. Marie-Laure Pilet-Nayel (from INRAE, Rennes, France) will share her studies on the dentification of quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with partial resistance to A. euteiches. Notably, her team identified QTLs consistently associated with partial resistance across different genetic backgrounds and environmental conditions, enhancing our understanding of the genetic architecture of resistance.
