EJP SOIL ARTEMIS Workshop “Data analytic methods and tools to assess cropping system sustainability and soil ecosystem services” is underway
CREA-Agriculture and Environment organizes the workshop at the Rome headquarters from 25 to 29 September 2023

The 5-days workshop, approaching in few days, is aimed to transfer knowledge and tools about meta-analysis, process-based modeling and trade-off evaluation. The workshop, that will consist of 3 different modules, will host participants from ARTEMIS and other EJP SOIL projects, such as SOMMIT, TRACE-soils, CarboSeq, SIMPLE, AgroecoseqC and MIXROOT-C.
The event is a good opportunity to strengthen the network established between ARTEMIS, SOMMIT and AGROECOseqC to deepen the knowledge of agroecology in Europe. In particular, Module 2 of the workshop “Trade-off analysis” will present the methodological approach developed in the SOMMIT project to identify best agroecological practices considering Cseq, N2O emissions, NO3 leaching and yield.

The EJP SOIL ARTEMIS project, lead by Klaus Jarosch (Agroscope, Svizzera) and co-lead by Claudia Di Bene (CREA – Centro di ricerca Agricoltura e Ambiente), will provide a better understanding on how specific agro-ecological practices affect soil ecosystem service indicators and how these indicators can be assessed in the field. This will be achieved by the evaluation of regionally representative field experiments using numerical modelling, a literature survey as well as in direct exchange with practitioners.
