We are at the 6th appointment of the third cycle of events organized by the researcher Nelson Nazzicari of the CREA-ZA Zootechnics and Aquaculture Research Center of Lodi, together with the International Legume Society.
This webinar focuses on the identification, characterization, and utilization of genetic resistance sources in legume breeding, with a special emphasis on peas. It explores strategies for integrating disease resistance with other control measures and highlights advances in selection methods, evaluation of genetic collections, and breeding techniques, including intra- and interspecific crosses. Key topics include inheritance and mapping studies, molecular characterization of resistance to major diseases. The session also covers recent progress in marker-assisted selection, genomic selection, and association studies to identify resistance-linked markers, enhancing breeding efficiency and crop resilience.
