Laboratory of Crop Germplasm

The Centre holds over 7500 accessions (mainly landraces and wild populations) belonging to about 60 species under long-term storage conditions (dehydrated seed at -18°). They include large world collections of pea, white lupin, cowpea and einkorn, a European collection of soybean, and large national collections of alfalfa, subterranean clover and white clover. The seed laboratory possesses any needed equipment for cleaning, dehydrating, weighing, assessing the germination, and mid-term (+4 °C) and long-term storage of the seed.
