FAO Commission of forest genetic resources - FAO, Panel of Experts on Forest Gene Resources
Description
What is this
(Member for Italy: Fulvio Ducci)
The panel of experts on forest genetic resources was instituted in 1968. Its mandate is to help planning and coordinating FAO efforts to explore, use and conserve genetic resources of forest trees, and particularly to contribute to prepare action plans in the short and long term and deliver information to member states.
The panel is involved in monitoring the activities in the field of forest genetic resources worldwide; discussing priority actions at national and regional level based on information from member states; advancing recommendations based on FAO operative priorities, with particular attention to cooperation, complementarity and coordination of programs and activities with other international organizations.
