Technical working group on nut chain – Chestnut sector

Description

What is this

The technical working group was established by MiPAAF in order to face and solve the problems of Italian Chestnut sector, particularly the phytosanitary problems and the competition with Asiatic market. Since 2010, meetings have been held between technicians, researchers, public administrations and representatives of the world of chestnut chain to agree on a Chestnut Plan for the revitalization of the sector. 

 The first Sectoral Plan for Chestnuts 2010/2013 highlights the results issued by the various working groups (including "Enhancement of wood production and multifunctionality"), highlighting the strengths and weaknesses, threats and opportunities of the sector; the strategies, objectives and key actions to be shared with institutional and economic subjects. This document was updated in 2018.
