This laboratory carries out the measurements needed to develop tree- volume, biomass and increment models.  

It is equipped for precise measurements of woody samples of tree components (trunks, branches, stumps, roots) as well as shrubs and deadwood.  

Tree cores are measured for increment data check within the Italian National Forest inventory, growth studies and dendrochronological investigations.
