What's this
Dr. Anna Rizzolo is a member of the working group "Processed fruit and vegetables", Italian National Committee for the Codex Alimentarius (SAQ VIII). The Codex Alimentarius is a collection of international standards adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.
What is it for
This body was created in 1962 by two United Nations organizations, the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) and WHO (World Health Organization) with the task of developing a body of rules relating to a discipline uniform, in the various States, on the production and trade of food products, in order to: 1. facilitate international trade, ensuring fair commercial transactions; 2. guarantee consumers a healthy and hygienic product, not adulterated as well as correctly presented and labeled.
