Materials for propagation of fruit trees, hortive plants and ornamentals – Plant Propagation material Certification - DM 17713/2016 

What it is

By Decree of the Italian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry policies (MiPAAF) of June 30, 2016, n. 17713 the "Permanent Working Group for Plant Protection" was established. 

The Working Group operates at the Directorate-General of Rural Development - Office DIRS V Central Plant Protection Service and Plant Production, and it is divided into the following sections: 

    a. Seeds Section; 
    b. Vine Propagation Materials Section; 
    c. Fruit, hortive and ornamental propagation materials section; 
    d. Fertilizers Section; 
    e. Plant Protection Products Section; 
    f. Phytosanitary barriers section. 

DANILO CECCARCARELLI and MARCO CARUSO, MARCELLO CUTULI and GIANLUCA BARUZZI, as representatives of CREA, are members of the Working Group within the "Materials for propagation of fruit trees, hortive plants and ornamentals” section.

In addition, Danilo Ceccarelli and Marcello Cutuli are members of the Subgroup "Evaluation of new plant accessions to the National Voluntary Certification Service". The sub-group is responsible for assessing the applications received by the National Voluntary Certification Service for the registration of new plant accessions through the verification of compliance with pomological and phytosanitary requirements. 

What is it for

The Standing Working Group on Plant Protection is a collegial body with advisory and proactive tasks in the areas of seeds, vine propagating material, fruit, hortive and ornamental propagating material, fertilizers, plant protection products and plant protection barriers. The Working Group may be entrusted with the elaboration or evaluation of specific technical documents relating to plant protection.
