The Centre has a technology platform for the analytical investigation of primary and secondary metabolites and the traceability and tracking of fruits and derivatives, by using chromatographic techniques (HPLC, GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, MALDI-TOF, LC-MS/MS, UPLC-QTOF, HS-SPME, ICP OES, ICP/MS, IRMS) and the non-destructive methods based on near-infrared (FTNIR and FTIR). There are also several laboratories for the pomological and qualitative characterization of the fruits and for sensorial analysis. The post-harvesting laboratories are equipped with a pilot line of fruit processing and refrigeration cells at controlled temperature and humidity, where semi-commercial tests are carried out on both the processing of the fruits and their preservation.
