Soil and Plant Chemistry laboratory
Soil and Plant Chemistry laboratory
The Soil and Plant Chemistry laboratory is a highly competent laboratory located at Caserta, but available to the entire Center for studies on soils and bioactive compounds in plant matrices.
The laboratory carries out studies on the role of soil aggregates in carbon sequestration, studies on the nitrogen and carbon balance in crop systems, chemical analyses of the soil for the determination of assimilable fractions of macro and micronutrients, and studies on bioactive compounds as quality indicators of plant productions.
The main instruments supplied are:
• Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAnalyst 400 + AS 90PLUs - PerkinElmer autosampler);
• Gas chromatograph coupled to Mass Spectrometer (Clarus 680 + Massa Clarus SQ 8 C - PerkinElmer);
• HPLC (Series 200 - PerkinElmer);
• Automatic titrator (DL 28 - Mettler);
• UV-VIS spectrophotometer (DU 64 Beckman);
• Fast Field cycling NMR relaxometer (Stelar's Spinmaster FFC2000);
• Continuous flow colorimeter (Autoanalyzer III - Bran + Luebbe).
